Why the material and the cleanroom matter here
On an automated analyser the reaction cup is not just a container — it is part of the optical path. A cup with inconsistent wall thickness or a visible flow line will scatter light, and the analyser has no way to tell you that the variation came from the plastic rather than from the sample. That is why we control the moulding in a GMP area rather than buying cups in and repacking them.
Pyrogen control matters for a different reason. Endotoxins survive autoclaving, so a sterile cup is not automatically an endotoxin-free cup. For IVD workflows the certificate of analysis should state the endotoxin result, the sterility result and the irradiation dose, batch by batch.
